I agree with the "Yawn" comment.
ALL three companies (Pamal/Townsquare/ClearChannel) are trying to get their lower-rated stations further up on the ratings lists. And quite frankly.......there is no where to go except steal the ratings from the stations that are working and the people in the market seem to like.
So all there is to do is COPY what the other stations that are at the top are doing, just call it something different
100.9 is doing it, The Bridge-Variety, yea ok this is just another 99.5, to go after their ratings
104.9 also, Pamal can't figure out what to do with these stations so their going after WGNA since Country has been number one in the market forever.
Now Townsquare is getting into it with their lowest rated station, (105.7) also going after 99.5 and 106.5 ratings with music that the demographic is listening to on those stations which are always in the top TEN in the market.
If you truely want to stand out and do something different, then do just that.
Don't copy other stations to steal their ratings.
The only way for a station to succeed is ORIGINALITY, and to be DIFFERENT, not the SAME !!!
