105.7 Hank FM in Kensett-Searcy

Along with the other format flips around central Arkansas it appears that Scott Gray got in just under the wire and brought 105.7 back to life before the license was deleted. At first they were stunting with karaoke music and computer voiced jokes and liners which was an interesting stunt but quickly tiring. Hank seems to be like a Jack (or Tom) FM only with country music exclusively. I have no horse in the game here but I must say that it's a refreshing change from the same stale songs on 105.1 the Wolf over and over again (a play list which is now that much smaller since they began using CC's "Premium Choice" satellite programming in more day parts). I also like the ID's that dig at the Crain stations.

Good luck Gray media and keep the large play list. After all, you can only hear 'Friends in Low Places' so many times before it becomes very tiresome.

I've heard it also & like it. Finally an actual country station.

There's definitely a place for REAL country on the dial, instead of the new rock-n-roll with corny lyrics that calls itself country.

Wasn't this station branded Thunder 105.7 at one time about 10 years ago? It used to play classic rock.

I thought Thunder was at 101.1. You're right it did play classic rock about 10 years or so ago. Most of the programming was off the satellite. I think they were only live during morning drive and maybe evening drive.

It was Thunder 101.5 (KPIK).... Ran the Jones Radio Network format. Kenny Madden put country on it later on, and then it was sold to EMF and is now the Air 1 Format.
