What is the translator broadcasting now, just curious. A year ago I heard it broadcasting silence when I was in the area. Before that, maybe a month or two before, it was rebroadcasting KUKA 105.9 out of the Alice area. I believe KUKA and the 105.9 in Corpus Christi are co-owned, so that makes sense.

Did they ever fix it to rebroadcast KUKA, or is it now rebroadcasting KBSO 94.7 over the air like it's license states? https://fccdata.org/?facid=&call=k2...=&lmspl=&party_type=LICEN&latd=&lond=&lang=en

You were just hearing KUKA on 105.9. The translator was probably off-air. A translator can’t pick up a station on the same frequency over-the-air, and KUKA is too far away to be legally fed directly. You can pick up a lot of stations the average radio can’t with a directional antenna at the top of a translator, but you can’t receive a station on the same frequency because the translator will almost always be the best signal on site and will override all distant and fringe signals on that frequency.

I don't think it was KUKA. Maybe someone in the area can confirm, but when I mentioned hearing KUKA's programming it was stronger as I went into Corpus Christi, not in the Alice area.
Maybe they just got notified their arrangement may have been illegal, that's why it was silent last I heard the same station.
LOL I'm just curious if the translator is back on the air now.
