105.9 Move-in from East TN

Any more news on the 105.9 move-in from Tazwell TN to Asheville?

The rulemaking has been approved. However, somebody filed an objection and Motion To Reconsider. This move was tied into the whole 96.5 mess, of course, since it'll be Saga's station. So, it'll take a few extra months to wade through the mess. I'm not exactly sure where it stands now.

I do know, though, that I personally will be VERY glad when WCTU signs off in Tazewell and back on again in Weavervegas. They are my direct competitor and when they go away, I get all their market share since we have common formats, and are the only games in town more or less.

Keep a watch for a minor-change application, which should be filed shortly for WCTU. After that, it should only be a matter of a few months.

I know I will be happy to see another FM in this market! We are starved for FM. It's slim pickins for Hot AC or about anything else.
