105.9 Victoria translator K290BC

I am able to hear it (although faintly) in San Antonio during tropospheric ducting tonight. Can 250 watts really travel that far or are they using something else with more power?

I know it's K290BC because I heard a liner for "La Ley 96-3 and 105-9".
The translator is co-owned with 96.3 KGGB in Yorktown TX. I guess they're using 96.3 as the main station, but I cannot hear 96.3 on the air.

The operator of these stations was noticed on this forum for doing things illegally several years back here in San Antonio, but as far as I know never was caught. Maybe the Radio Police who are reading these boards might send a complaint to the FCC about the Victoria station with (apparently) no main signal.

I don't like the idea of all these low power stations but I can pick up 105.9 almost regularly out in Lavaca County. 96.3 seems to be in low power for a long time now. I havn't been able to pick them up in a very long time.
