106.1 about to flip??

Hornets off the station. Gerry V gone according to Tix FM morning news...which was strange. Website says under construction.

It would be great for the Zephyr to come back, but let's face it, alternative is not a strong format these days. When stalwarts like 99X Atlanta and Q101 Chicago are no longer around, then that should tell you something. Plus, 92.3 and 104.1 cover the rock market pretty well. CHR could possibly work. It's been a while since B97 had competition (though I realize 106.1 doesn't quite cover the entire New Orleans area like B can).

Website's been "Under Construction" since the flip to sports. Would it be surprising if they just kept it all satellite sports?

It would be great to get another top 40 or dance top 40 on 106.1 fm, but you right about the signal is weak in two metro areas (New Orleans and Biloxi-Gulfport)

New Orleans has a new top 40 on a translator that puts about the same signal as 106.1 with the name talent onit.. So I'd say no on that.. Forget alternative as 92.3 is doing that. AAA would be a interesting choice but I'm thinkig they may just clear sports for a while...

I was told they are remaining a sports station as Cumulus and CBS SPORTS are merging to form a CBS National Sports Talk Network.
