106.1 FM

I noticed there is a 106.1 coming from some where, its in Spanish and it doesn't have an ID at the top of the hour, I take its coming from Tijuana. Does any one know how much power its running on.

K291CR from Encinitas simulcasts KPRZ. That is the only licensed 106.1 in the TJ/SD market that I can find.

I just looked that the IFT list fro December for Mexico, and there are no 106.1 assignments in all of Baja California.

A new 106.1 would be community or indigenous in Mexico due to the (fairly recent) designation of a reserved band 106-108 MHz for those types of stations. 106.1 is not available in Tijuana because of protections to 106.5 San Diego. The only 106.1 allotment for Baja California is a Class A at Ensenada, made recently. (The IFT did recently greenlight a community station for Ensenada, but on 107.9, and it's not coming on until sometime next year.)
