106.1 Gen X Radio Tulsa applies for construction permit

I still remember when that Lake Oolagah tower went up in the mid 80's with a flashing strobe that could be seen for miles. Some locals called the police thinking it was a UFO.

Smart move for CC, I remember 106.1 always having signal problems in the southwest part of Tulsa.

I agree. 106.1 also had some trouble in and around midtown Tulsa, hence the 93.5 translator that used to be at the fairgrounds. I lived less than a mile from the fairgrounds and often found K-Lite, later KOOL, 102 from Oklahoma City sounded better on a car radio in that area than KOOL 106.

Just for the record 93.5 was never at the fairgrounds. It was on a building near East 41st Street and Skelly Bypass before moving to the CC facility on Memorial.
