106.1 KISS-FM…

…has the WORST imaging—by far—in DFW. I know imaging might not matter much to the listener, especially in the PPM era. However, I know of plenty of stations in other PPM markets and even stations in diary-based markets (150+) that run circles around 106.1 KISS-FM’s imaging.

The imaging is stale, they are using 4 or 5 (or maybe more) different voiceover talents, including at least 3 males with different styles. Some of the “bad” imaging has been running since at least 2017, when I moved here.

Anyways, was driving across DFW to pick up something for work today and had a decent amount of time to listen.

It’s just BAD! What are they doing over there?!?

I’ve always thought of 106.1 as a “background music” station. Actually, I think of all commercial music stations that way. Outside of the morning show, I guess it’s still the Kidd Kraddick show, nobody really cares about the personalities. They always seem to get good ratings and generate enough money to keep iHeart satisfied, so there’s no need to change anything.

If you want to actively listen to your radio, we’ve got some fantastic non commercial stations here, in addition to the limitless audio options via internet and satellite.

That would be Chris Corley, who did unfortunately pass away back in 2019.
