Well, we certainly didn't have anyone playing "Angel of the Morning" by Juice Newton. Yet to be seen whether we needed it. LOL.
I wasn't expecting anything quite THIS soft. I hope they put some local research behind this or I can see them having another big old bust on their hands!
BTW: They followed Juice Newton with "Perfect" by P!nk. Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. So I'm just gonna switch back to B101 now...
Well, I just wrote a whole thing here but it when I clicked to post it, it was just a blank screen so I guess it's lost. I was saying that I took the opportunity today to peruse the Breeze playlist and it seems they've finally gotten it together. I still don't understand why they came outta the gate with so much schmaltz and I guess I never will. But what they're doing now looks almost entirely listenable. If I find myself in a car anytime soon, I imagine I'll bounce between 98.1, 101.1 and 106.1.
Looking ahead ten months (to probably the next time anything remotely interesting happens in Philly radio), do we think that iHeart is gonna keep letting B101.1 have the Christmas audience all to themselves? I understand what they were going for by launching during Christmas 2018 (though the logic is questionable and I suppose the Holiday Book will let us know if it was remotely effective) but going forward, does it make sense to just sit out the Christmas boom? Personally, I couldn't care less because I've never heard an iHeart Christmas station that I didn't think sucked. But it's still a valid question.
