106.1 the breeze

Iheart should just scrap the soft ac format and revive the HOT AC format on the station. If they are trying to get younger demographics to listen to the station. They just sound like a regular AC station now

Faith Hill, Luther Vandross, Leann Rimes…they really don’t sound like a regular AC station. They may not be as old skewing. But that’s not the same as today’s more or less standard AC.

Wow two threads between this and mine. well we know people are listening to 106.1 apparently, lol.

I don't think some of the songs they are playing would fit the Hot AC format.
What I don't have access to and would be nice to know is, are they selling better now then they did as Hot AC "Mix?"

That 106.1 frequency has been unable to get ratings for years. All sorts of formats with no ratings. Hot AC, Rhythmic AC, all had few listeners. Then The Breeze came to Philadelphia. And it's been a Top 10 station since then. Sometimes it even has better ratings than WBEB 101.1. In the latest ratings, WBEB is #4 and WISX is #10. It's iHeart's second best rated station, after WDAS-FM.

Why mess with that?

Likely poor ad revenue.
