106.1 Tri-Cities already airing Christmas music

Just noticed this morning on my AM DX session. Passing by 960 heard 'Sleigh Ride' by The Carpenters and knew this was KALE, which feeds the 106.1 translator in Tri-Cities. And sure enough....we're still hours away from the trick-or-treater session! Are they nuts?

They did the same thing last year with “more fm” but not this early. One can’t help but wonder about the future of “more” on 106.1 which was previously on 95.7 and before that on 106.1.

And as of 6:30 pm on December 26th, 2018, they are still wall to wall Christmas music. This perhaps increasing the odds of KALE and their Tri-Cities translator at 106.1 going in a different direction in 2019. My best guess would be a soft rock format that resembles "The Sound" in Seattle, at 94.1.

Well, whatever change they have in store, it hasn't gone into effect yet. As of 12:30PM still Christmas on 106.1 in Tri-Cities.

No change. Tri-Cities radio is a cluster-f. Too many going after the same audience. Someone should step out and gain some market share. Unfortunately, there are no bold OM's, or PD's locally. They have to call their company for instructions. Sad.
