106.3 Hank.....No More?

It happened on April 1st, they should have never went that route in the first place with a market that already had too many country stations that were establisted many years ago, KUBB 96.3, KATN 103.3, KSKS 93.7 , and on top of that another station that shouldn't have gone that route as well KHGE 102.7, they were better of staying as Alice on that Frequency, 96.7 with there lesser Class b1 has alway been better on the ratings than what 102.7 is doing now. expecailly sense 106.7 KJUG also has a good valley signal.
 
you are correct about 106.3 switching to country. That was not a good move, especially when you hire a jock that had previously left your company to go to work at Buckley across town to come back and program it. It was a KUBB wannabe. Only problem is, KUBB has the bigger signal and has been around for 35 years or more. I don't understand why they didn't see the light and change it 2 years ago.

Mapleton should have never changed formats on 106.3 when they bought it 9 years ago. It was playing Westwood One's Bright AC format and Bob & Sheri in the morning. They had very good ratings in the market, especially in morning drive.

That station has changed formats numerous times now. Let's see, it was Westwood One AC, then it was Mapleton's version of AC, then it was Jones Hot AC (sounded more like hip hop after 7 PM), then it was Jones Hot AC without Bob & Sheri, then it was Christmas 106.3 for about 3 months, then it was another Jones Classic Hits forrmat without Bob & Sheri, then it was Jones Classic Hits with Bob & Sheri, then it was Mapleon's version of classic hit's The Hippo 106.3 without Bob & Sheri, then it was The Hippo with Bob & Sheri, then it was the Hippo with Bob & Tom ( another dumb move, Bob & Tom are already in the market on several stations), then it was Hank 106.3, then it was Hank 106.3 with Big D and Bubba (boring and already in the market), and now it's come full circle, it's back to AC music. Whew! that's a lot of format changing.

I hope it does well and they stop changing formats now ;D
