106.3 WPDH Westchester

what is the deal with 106.3 in Westchester? The audio is horrible its like someone turned down the treble on 106.3's transmitter to the point where it sounds real muddy but 101.5's audio sounds a lot cleaner. anyone else notice this? does anyone from Cumulus listen to there repeaters? another thing i don't get is why waste your time giving the weather (temp) in Scarsdale Yonkers and Whiteplanes? the signal is unlistenable due to bleed from 106.1 WBLI and Royal Radio broadcasting out of the Bronx

I mean come on now people

It's yet another situation where a company purchased the wrong station to relay the main signal into an area where the main signal isn't so strong. If Cumulus wanted a strong signal in places like Scarsdale, Yonkers, and White Plains, they should have bought 103.9, 107.1, or 93.5. Obviously, none of those frequencies were up for sale. A similar situation occured on Long Island where Univision (?) bought 92.7 Garden City to relay WCAA. First off, just about all of 92.7's signal covers where 105.9 is strong anyway. Secondly, there is an extremely large Latino population in places like Brentwood, Bay Shore, and Central Islip. 92.7 doesn't even come in that great in those places, but 103.1 and 94.3 obviously do. Again, those frequencies were not up for sale.

What's the purpose of buying a station that doesn't serve its purpose?

106.3 will never be nothing more then a simulcast station since their signal is so bad......Even their signal in Rockland is bad b/c WHTG interferes in some places......They should just go back to simulcasting WFAS-FM.....Yeah I know there is a lot of overlap between the two but at least WFAS-FM was able to cover the whole county when they were together.<P ID="signature">______________
