106.3

Just about anywhere in San Antonio you get 106.3 You also get 91.3. West of IH 10 it drops off. EMF also has several apps in for translators around the area. Definitely a waste.

K-Love plays some really beautiful music but the processing on 91.3 is so harsh and overdriven it is absolutely unlistenable. You can actually hear the artifacts from the digital compression.

The acuall tower is about 2 miles west of Luling and about 30 miles south south west of Austin, its in a fringe area of the south side of Austin, it covers Lockhart, San marcos, Luling, Gonzales fairly well. I didnt know 106.3 could come in so well in San antonio, it goes just about dead on the other side of Shiner going into Hallitsville.

106.3 has never really been much of a player in the austin market. On certain days far South Austin and Buda receive a somewhat decent signal. It serves San Marcos a lot better. Up here in Round Rock, I am much more likely to receive a hip hop station at 106.3 out of the Temple area. Usually comes in quite clearly on most days.

What you mean is that you consider it a "waste" because you don't like the format or execution. It's okay if you don't, but that does not mean that there are not a lot of listeners that do enjoy the station (myself excluded) or that the station is a "waste".

I just wanted to make that clarification.

Yeah,, They use to be KCTI in Gonzales 1450am, but I gues a company out of Austin baught them, I would love to see them go back to KCTI, they played a interesting format, I doupt that will ever happen though in my truck I can get 106.3 fairly well up at Talor, Right now where i'm living i'm about 12 miles from 106.3 in Luling, & about 12.5 miles away from KBPA. When K-LOVE or any brokered religious operations show up in 12+ numbers, get back to me.

You really are a world class idiot. There is nothing "brokered" about KLOVE. EMF owns almost all the KLOVE stations outright and the few that they don't own are leased 100% of the time. EMF has sharathons twice a year to pay the bills because there are no commercials. It's now obvious to everyone that you have never even listened to the station.

On a second note, please stop showing your ignorance about "brokered religious operations". There is usually at least one "brokered religious operation" that shows up in the ratings in every single market. Some pull very decent numbers.

KLOVE doesn't show up in the ratings on R&R because it is non-commercial and Arbitron doesn't release non-commercial listings. Trust me, they do very well.

Not the "OR" in between KLOVE and brokered religious operations.

You're right, it's quite an accomplishment to own a 10w translator.
