106.5 FM

Riding along I-285 East in Dekalb County scanning the dial I ran across 106.5 FM. I heard some hip-hop music on a show showcasing unsigned artist. Started to fade heading East towards Wesley Chapel and Panola. The music sounded as if it was in mono on an AM station.

I don't live there, but likely this was a pirate FM. Isn't there WYAY at 106.7? (I assume no HD for WYAY then)

WYAY started bleeding a little the futher East I went outside of 285.

106.7 is one this area's two full Class C FM stations. They have some "protection" so most likely a pirate, some kind of "tropo / FM Skip" deal or a part 15 gone very very wrong. IIRC 106.7 has antenna issues and they are not running HD at this time. I agree with cd637299: Pirate.

Somebody thought this was a Spanish station on another post. I know it sounds like it is
broadcasting from a bedroom in Jamaica...........and has been on for quite some time.
