106.5 in the Dalton Group days

Remember how good this station sounded before CC butchered it. It's amazing how different they sound now with virtually the same personalities and the same music. OH wait, it's the same music they played in the 90's. CC puts too much effort in market research rather than letting a new rock station be the forefront of up and coming artists. Back in the day, I would here new songs on their playlist every week. Last time I heard a new song on their playlist was in April with Hey there Delilah. I was shocked to here a different song.

The END, at times, was great radio. Charlotte was dying for an alternative/new rock whatever you
want to call it station. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, were hot. After a few years of only having the ARC overnight crew at WNCW to play the stuff you never heard it was such a breath of fresh radio. Remember all those Weenie Roasts that sold out? It's not even a shadow of what it used to be.

Viva 1065 anyone?

Whatever 95.7 FM was, they were doing it too, although it was more of a mix of old and new.

Oh, sure it is. It's EXACTLY like it used to be. :D

-except they never had a presence on the streets, no promotions. No weenie roast concerts. No connection.

-You mean when they had Hancock's local morning show and the majority of the shifts weren't on tape?

Yeah, I figured out Bob and Tom is a big reason I know longer like the station. Hancock's morning show was awesome. In fact I still listen to Hancock when I get a chance.

No, I mean they still play the same songs as 10 years ago.

The nail in the coffin of 106.5 is coming soon. They're going to become an active rocker to fit Bob & Tom. CC is making the station fit Bob & Tom, since Bob & Tom don't fit the station now. Active Rock is coming and this is so they can play some of the Fox's music on 106.5. If you can't get enough Def Lepard and AC/DC on the Fox, just turn to The End. Clear Channel... Ruining Charlotte Radio one station at a time.

Yeah, and it will probably be a cruddy active rocker similar to the Buzzard up in Greensboro.

Now if it was like project 9-6-1 in Atlanta, it might be OK, but we're talking about Jack Daniel here, so it will be another fox rehash.

It's time for big shake-up in this market. In the meantime, I'll stick to XM.

Jack Daniel did a great job during the Dalton Group days. It's Rita Thorne (following orders from the top) and Morgan Bohannan who have ruined this station.

Uh.....Active Rock won't fit Bob & Tom either. Classic maybe. They're a tad long in the tooth for Active.
