106.5 Newburgh power increase with Drive FX?

I Found this on Radio insight.

"Digital Radio Broadcasting’s 106.5 W293AE Newburgh, NY has been granted a CP to increase power from 10 to 99 watts. The translator will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Sunrise Broadcasting’s 103.1 WJGK."

Looks like Drive FX or Fox country will be coming to coming to Newburgh and WDST days are numbered on 106.5

Very likely Drive FX as Newburgh coverage is pretty inconsistent on either 94.1 or 95.7. This would certainly fill in the gap. a 10x increase from up the Mtn will certainly help bring the translator up.

Right here in Kingston, I can't pick up 95.7 which is "Drive FX", but the signal sounded horrible. I hope this signal will increase soon.

95.7 W239BL, Poughkeepsie has been granted a construction permit to increase power to 250 watts from the current 10 watts ,with a directional signal to the north, , so once built it could come close to the Kingston area.

Looks like your right. Just found this on Drive FXs Facebook page.

" Fox Drive Fx will be off air this morning for a little bit, when we come back their will be an increase in power which =s more coverage =]"

Poughkeepsie is at increased power. No immediate plans to take Radio Woodstock off 106.5 at Beacon/Newburgh...
