106.5 Pirate??

Lately been hearing a reggae station on 106.5 here in Bridgeport. Anyone know who is running it and where it's coming from? I only hear it at certain times during the day and it plays all types of reggae and dancehall..

???

There are applicants for low power FMs patiently going through the proper procedures only to have someone else ignore the laws and put a signal wherever they please. The dial in Bridgeport is full of signals that boom in from New York City to Long Island to Hartford. Bridgeport is not exactly a remote desert island.

I love pirates too!! :)

It's too bad the only people that put them up are usually ethnic. I'd love to put a dance music one in Hartford.

My experience is pirate radio stations are almost always Caribbean. Boston, Newark, NJ, NY, even in London UK. It's part of the culture I guess, in Caribbean countries it's not unusual to make your own radio station.
