106.5-The Ends' "My Pod" Weekend

Great name for a great weekend -

My Pod instead of IPOD.

Great to hear the legendary Mr. Bill play "Monkey Business" by Sebastian Bach & Skid Row.

When's the last time you heard that?

Great Rock variety.

Should program that all year long.

PD Jack Daniel must not have too many suits working there.
 
okay, I know I've said it before. But Clear Channel owns both WEND and WRFX. The same suits run both stations. Jeff Kent and Jack Daniel have the same boss.
 
BUT....one may have more programming freedom than the other.
 
I don't know, man, I would think "My Pod" is not that great a title for a weekend, but more like a weekend-long ad for a product that it turns out they aren't selling.
 
The more I think about it 106.5 does need to go active. Or just a rock format. Add some more hair bands and late 80's rock to the station and it would kick some a$$

I don't think Jack had any input at all.

As I heard the story, the Dalton famliy announced to the staff one morning that the station was being sold. $5 minutes later the new owners called Hancock in to the office for a meeting and told him his services were no longer required. Next morning the syndicated show was on the air.

Even though I am reading between the lines, it surely appears that the decision was made way above Jack and days if not weeks prior to the announcement to the employees.

Did I mention I Hate Clear Channel?
 
Actually Dave Lingefelt was trying to get Bob & Tom for WXRC to replace Stern, but Clear Channel looked for a local property instead. Lingefelt then grabbed Lex & Terry before switching to 'The Ride' a year later.

And that was called a lose-lose situation. I faithfully listened to the End in the Dalton Group Days. Bob & Tom is what drove me away from the station.
