106.5

The former HBC markets had rights of prior usage. EMF has made agreements there. Houston is one of those.

So it would appear that EMF could launch K-Love in the Houston market should it choose to do so. 92.1 would be the perfect place should Urban One decide to dump its ratings turkey. However EMF may keep K-Love out of the market in deference to similarly formatted KSBJ. The closest K-Love stations are a pair of translators in Beaumont-Port Arthur.

The Shark is currently at low power unfortunately due to Hurricane Harvey. I thought there was another 106.5 in Victoria/Port Lavaca anyway.

There is a pseudo-Alternative station in Victoria/Port Lavaca...KBAR 100.9 "K-BAR." It is Joe Friar's iPod, a very eclectic station. Plays everything from Pink Floyd to Depeche Mode to Highly Suspect.

"The Shark" KYRK Taft/Corpus Christi 106.5 is a more consistent rock alternative (not active rock) station, which is why I attempt to DX it every chance I get.
