I gotta hand it to 106.7 The Fan. Those are perhaps the greatest radio billboards this town has ever seen. I'm not sure how they correlate to the station, but they got my attention.
______________

So far, I've seen two variatiosn: It's basically girls in black lingerie (heads not visible) with the ESPN logo stenciled on their midriffs. and 106.7 The Fan somewhere else on the billboard. One of them has 2 girls, the other has four.

Hey, I'm a guy. Sue me for liking these billboards.
______________

I haven't seen the boards yet, but that ought to make the
interstate commute alot brighter.

And speaking of bright sides ----

The Fan will have more viewers than listeners.

Gotta give Cumulus props on this one (or those.)

The ESPN logo? So that's what was "painted" on their tummies. I couldn't make it out while driving past. Billboard gets an A+ for attention getting, but an F for getting the message across. Violates the third rule in advertising: The delivery of the message should never overpower the message itself.

Considering what the message is I think it is perfectly all right to violate this rule.

I think they are sick, perverted, and another reason to avoid listening to that station. Its soft porn that isn't needed in public view.

agreed..nothing is exposed in those ads..and they are eye-catching..which is what marketing is about right?

I agree with you guys, the billboards are far from sick and perverted. However, one might call them "inappropriate" or "cheap" (in the "tawdry" sense of the word), especially the newer one I've seen. Between the billboards and the women on the website, the station seems to be making a last ditch effort to get ratings (no, make that get listeners, since they obviously need some listeners before they can ever hope to have ratings). In addition, while the Zone at least has some female listeners, the Fan removed females from their audience by resorting to this kind of advertising. These billboards are actually signs of desperation.

I think you were being to considerate to 'Francis.' But, as Moderator, you
have taken the RI oath to maintain dignity and charm. I, on the
other hand have not, nor will I ////hehehe.

Allow me to respond:

I assumed this wasn't a serious comment until I read it is posted by
someone who says he/she/it is [with] radiofreenashville.

Ah, the king/queen of alternative thinking radio in Nashville
looking down in judgement....

As typical, so much for your openmindedness and live and
let live individual rights theory. Go crawl back under your
rock and keep your "enlightend" head in the sand mentality
away from real free thinking people in Nashville. Thank God
you are not on that billboard. If it said "We Hate American Freedoms/
Listen to The Fan", you would be bowing down to the billboard.
The billboard is a non-event. How could you even think of using a
computer considering all the filth that is online? Ah,
the hypocrisy.

Regardless, what's sick and perverted is the fact that Cumulus
actually thinks it's listeners are so stupid that painted
midriffs would get them ratings.

That's sick and perverted. Change the format. The ratings are sick and perverted.

Is radio free nashville still on the air? Yawn! Hint: It's sad.
The Fan billboards are insignificant to the real problems in the
world today. Stop playing censor and go make a difference.
