106.7 Green Bay, WI Goes Alternative

106.7 "the Eagle" shifted formats today at 1:06PM from Classic Rock to Alternative as "106.7 The Zone - Green Bay's Only True Alternative Station." Interestingly enough the same ownership group owns Alternative 96.9 the Fox in very nearby Appleton, WI.

The station is being voiced by the same guy who does KRBZ in Kansas City and is sounding really good. Check out their playlist WZNN at Yes.com. This one is a keeper so far: Not a lot of numetal. Not too obscure - but this is Green Bay we're talking about afterall. A good balance.
 
...For example today in the midnight hour on their first full 24 hrs. of operation they played NIN "Only", 311 "Down", Cracker "Get off This", Offspring "Gotta Get Away", Tool "Vicarious" and Smashing Pumpkins "Thirty Three" among others.
 
Who would've thought Northern WI and SoCal (San Diego or LA, take your pick) would have anything in common! Both areas have two decent commercial alt rock stations...
 
Looks like a decent sounding station from what I saw on yes.com. Our K-Rock (CBS owned) station here in Cleveland has that same slogan "Everything Alternative." Wonder if that means they have plans up there to add in "alternative sounding" talk shows into the daily lineup, much like K-Rock here has Rover and O&A. For their sake up there, I sure hope not!
