106.7's Logo -- NASCAR Will Be Pissed!

After hearing some good music on DC101 up in our nation's capital, I got back to this.

(Sorry for the wideness.)

I'm gonna laugh when Dave Seibert and John McQueen get a nasty lawsuit threat from the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.

And will anyone care that they'll carry NASCAR races on their station? One GM told me that people in New Orleans don't give a crap about NASCAR. The only local connection to NASCAR is Kim Crosby... who shouldn't have given up her job as a junior high school principal.

why would nascar be pissed? they are carrying nascar. they are promoting the fact that they carry nascar. i see nothing to be pissed about.

NASCAR doesn't care. They're very protective of their trademark and logo, just like any other organization.

If WWL changed their logo to something resembling the Saints' black & gold fleur-de-lis because they carried the Saints, Benson and the NFL would be on them faster than Tom Fitzmorris on a caller who prefers a fried turkey.

It's about trademark protection. I just can't see anyway NASCAR would allow Citadel to do this. I have yet to see any station in the country that carries NASCAR that has a cheap rip-off of NASCAR's logo.

(Who woulda thought that NASCAR would get this much talk on a Louisiana board?)<P ID="signature">______________

I know I've seen it somewhere's dealing with Nascar but It's not a direct copy of the official NASCAR logo that is used (unless it's one of the smaller trademarked one for say a TV program or something)on their website..(I think it's a rip of one from a tv show though)


and NASCAR is played and talked about on a few stations in the state mainly central and North Louisiana (around the northshore there are a few stations playing Autosports related programs also BTW)... think KWKH Shreveport is one of them,KYLA in Shreveport is another,KBKK in Alexandria, and I think the radio people are the ones doing it in Monroe (Monroe please correct me) .... It's just not hardcore around New Orleans than the rest of the state. (Like a lot of stuff that for some reason is not as popular in NOLA compared to the rest of the state.
