106.9 Changing things up?

I'm beginning to think that Pearl Jam is the new Led Zeppelin when it comes to radio plays.. Along with Nirvana the new Lynyrd Skynyrd.. It seems like every 3rd song is by one of these 2 groups..

....and thank God for that! ;D

Out of all the Houston stations, this is the only one I wouldn't mind my radio being stuck on.

KHMX sounds almost like KKHH its not funny. Hate to say but it seemed better under Clear Channel

They just tweaked it again... now it's "Houston's Best Alternative". Heard Puddle of Mudd this morning. Seems to get better and better.

1:13 PM:
30 Seconds to Mars--The Kill (2006)

Earlier in the hour:
Blue October -- Hate Me (2006)

Getting closer to currents...

Nice. I am really starting to enjoy this station now. Still don't understand how The Point stayed on for so long. Now the new format is far from where it was when it flipped back in November.

Yeah thats for sure. I just heard Breaking the Habit by: Linkin park

Im really liking the sound of this station.

This station reminds me of the 'late' 'great' ch 54 Lucy on XM and thats a good thing. First few months of the Zone sounded like they were targeting KHJK now they have the Buzz in their crosshairs.

It's been a nice evolution. I thought I heard some live people on the air as well on the weekend, which is something some other stations don't do as often.

Why would other stations continue the mediocrity?

I wonder if they intended to ease into this format all along - or has it really been a natural progression?
