106.9 New Format

> chill
>

quit talkin about that chill format..lol...its aint catchin on. Coke tried it with the commercials, and noone cared. No corporate radio is gonna give an untested and unproven format (heres where u insert a bunch of stations that noones heard of using it, supposedly)that big a signal or place in the market.

if u really want to make a chill a viable format, do it yourself, grassroots style. podcast it thru iTunes, build a movement. dont sit on a message board and post one word posts about it. dont talk about it, be about it! until then, dont waste time.

moderators....
dont mean to be rude, but this dude gets on my nerves

the question was: what to do with 106nine. ..i answered.

i could complain that so & so keeps hypin' up the hurban or reggaeton format. ..whatever.

i'm doin quite well with chill / satellite radio. ..this is the future.

if you want crusty-old fm programming, ..so be it.

in the mid-80's, i was told that the 'alternative / modern rock' was an untested & unproven format and that it'll stay underground and will never work for commercial radio.

do an auditorium test with chill music and i'm positive that it'll do extremely well. nobody is testing 'chill'; of course it's unproven.

it seems like most of national car commercials... or commercials in general, are using chill music for production. ...radio stations too; using chill / drum & bass / trance music for production.

chill music is everywhere, except fm radio.

Which should tell you what the industry thinks of the format's potential.

Thank you for dropping the all-caps postings, BTW.<P ID="signature">______________

Any time there is an idea about a new format or variant that comes into conversation, at least one station or group will research it immediately. Station owners are looking for new ideas all the time, and in the era of consolidation, eveyrone has one underperforming station or market where somethng new is needed.

Chill has been researched. It did not pass. It is not a format.
