106.9 Planet radio

I don't understand this move. Why did they bring "Planet Radio" back on a weak frequency? People are excited about it and are showing their love on 106.9's facebook page...then turning around and complaining about the static and weak signal. The admin(s) are replying to them by suggesting they use HD Radio or the Iheartradio app. I get that (they want to promote the app) but what about the boys on the construction sites, in warehouses, and etc.? I'd say majority of these places use boomboxes and etc. that do not have the ability to listen to Iheartradio.

By the way, should X1029 be worried? If so, how do they respond? I am sure they are working on some one liners for their new "competition" and I think if they wanted to be really clever, they'd use Chad Kerch (Chumley at the old Panet) to their advantage, right?

Thoughts?

My thoughts...
1. X1029 has absolutely nothing to worry about from a 99 watt pea-shooter.
2. This might be called Planet, but it's playlist is actually more like Rock 1045 reincarnated.
...The old (and good) Planet was a "New Rock" station that played mostly newer/alternative stuff, none of this old Guns n Roses, & Hendrix & stuff.
CC must be just trying to take some of the old WFYV audience away from WSOS, which is probably where most of them went.

A big issue is how the COMBINED MANAGEMENT at Rock 104.5 & X 102.9 (it's the same people you know. Not in the Cox sense of things, but the same actual people. When Rock signed off, they moved personnel to X) lied to the Rock listeners when they said a BIG portion of X music would be the same loud, hard rock they craved. X even ran a few spots to allay the fears of Rock listeners. Fast forward & it's clear the former Rock listeners were lied to. Mostly wuss rock (or what I call CHR2) is what airs on 102.9. As alt music is used to perpetuate the feminization of rock, I can see people stringing together wire hangers & tin foil to pick up 106.9. 94.1 is classic rock, and that's where the ROCK 105 listeners went, not ROCK 104.5.

Besides if 106.9 can pull in sizable ratings, they can always move it to their trainwreck on 97.9
