If they sounded this good back when they were on FM, maybe they'd still be around. It isn't repetitive; it's played songs KHPT never did. It even recognizes the existence of Michael Jackson! A co worker says they played Run-DMC although I didn't witness it myself. Anyone listen lately?
 
I sample it from time to time in my car. I agree the selection is much better. This is more less what I was expecting of the original Point.
 
I agree. Is it available on the Internet, or just on HD2? My comment was that not many have HD receivers.
 
I like it also but have the same issue as with the "old" point. The song list is too small. I know it'll never happen but I'd love to be involved with something like this, even if it was unpaid.
 
Cox just seems like the lazy, the less effort the better unless something warrants it, kind of company. I've noticed they don't run RDS on the HD signals other than KKBQ. Hate that

Same here. Rageradio, can you imagine a weekly 6400 tribute mixshow? I know several people who might buy HD radios just for something like that. I can dream.
 
Am I the only one here that has trouble with the "Quote" option on this site. I can never get it to work!

StevenNOLA.. Oh hell yeah I would love to be a part of something like that too. Something like that could raise awareness and the interest in HD radio.
 
Where'd the 80s go? Just drove back into the coverage area from Louisiana and the last 3 songs were nirvana, nickelback, and now 311
 
Not sure how you heard that StevenNOLA because 106-9 has been simulcasting Classic Hits/KGLK 107-5 The Eagle since July 2011. KHPT dropped The Point for Classic Alternative in November 2010 as The Zone but Cox killed it off for The Eagle.

I was referring to HD-2, which has been branded as "The Point" for the past few months.
 
I don't kniw what's going on there.. I've been listening for the last half hour and have yet to hear any branding or legal id. But they're playing nothing but classic alternative
