106.9 The Pulse

...In Gainesville has been spinning yuletide tunes since last week. Maybe a post-Christmas flip coming? I know the Christian format can't be doing much...even on a 100,00 watt stick!

I remember reading on the old 106-9 KZY facebook page that they needed more listeners to keep KZY going. That's why I was surprised they moved such a niche format onto that same stick. I do like some Christian contemporary artists but from a $$$ standpoint I didn't think this was such a good idea. But I'm just a guy who likes radio, & not their decision maker! :D

You Thought Pamal was bad....stay tuned

I spent 6+ years working for the cluster#$#$ when Pamal owned them . Did not think more idiotic programming could be put in place and expected to bring in sustainable revenues , but hence behold the mess the "radio experts" have on the airwaves now! I do remember when 106.9 was "Kozy 106.9" and pulled almost a 5 share in the books...from the continuous format flips they deserve to be where they are. You think they would have learned something when the took the classic country off of 101.7. Sorry can't even call these owners "pencil pushers" ...just another bunch of idiot car dealers that want to play radio.
I guess they thought buying quantity rather than quality would make them a player in the market. Just another bunch of rimshot signals with crappy programming, (did I mention the wasted 50kw signal of "the buzz" which is also in the toilet as far as ratings go).
I can't wait to see the financial bath they take when they go to unload this bleeding bloodbath of media properties. I remember pamal folks had around 17 million in the stations and the palace they had to build in "Tower Hill"...which I believe still has a sandbox on the ground floor waiting to leased out! Guess they've got around 5 million in these stations...should be interesting to see the price when they go on the market.nThe late Jim Brand, I had the pleasure of working with was right when he simply said "what a mess".... rest in peace Jim, in the great radio station in the sky!
