106.9

With all these threads about 106.9 I feel the need to mention the obvious.

106.9 transmits from the Jersey side of the river and from only 550 feet up - this is in stark contrast to stations like WYSP at the antenna farm over 1,100 feet up.

106.9 has to contend with 50,000 watt (equivalent) WMHX only about 75 miles west of Philly on 106.7.

106.9 is a scant 65 miles from 6,000 watt (equivalent) WWZY from Long Branch, and they have a mutual interference deal which s[ecifically allows 107.1 to step on 106.9's signal. (see: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101019856&qnum=5280&copynum=1&exhcnum=5)

106.9 is not a perfect solution for anyone wanting full-market FM coverage.

Since I heard about this move I decided to listen to 106.9 as I drove around the city and it is clear in Philly and in Jersey and up into North Jersey. I don't think there will be the problems you claim for whoever is buying the station.

Right now on the radio in my kitchen in Paoli, PA, 106.9 comes in more clearly than 610, 950, & 990. 1060 & 1210 come in with static. On this HD radio, I listen to the CBS AM stations on one of the FM sub-channels because they are cyrstal clear with no static.

Coverage maps and reality are often distinctly different. 106.9 gets out where it needs to. If you know of a better facility for sale, please, by all means....

CBS should not put one of their AMs on 106.9. In Coatesville, 106.9 is unlistenable when 610 and 1060 come in clear and 1210 is very weak but better than 106.9.
