1067 KKND

finally someones got them........... 1067 kknd has jingles on the station now. i like em and imo they sound great, even tho its a lotta syllables crammed into shotgun jingles! they have a chr/top40 edge to them.
i think they are the only station in new orleans besides wnoe with jingles. whats the deal? are the pds or big wigs afraid to spend the money to get them for their station?? thoughts??

If you want to count the old Mtghty 690 jingles on WTIX-FM then it would be three stations with them, but I thought jingles went the way of the aero radio beacons playing weather broadcast for airplanes. Oh! I forgot Magic 101.9(WLMG) that makes four

Yeah, I heard a few of them for the first time earlier today. They do have a CHR sound to them because they're "what country has become"... more lilke pop.

Magic has jingles and WNOE got a new package a few months back. And I think FM98 WYLD has jingles as well, but don't count on some others like Diva, Martini, B-97, etc. to get any soon. Citadel spent a lot on 106.7, so they won't have money to put them on the others. The current PD of B-97 doesn't like jingles 'cause "they're old school," so you won't hear them on there as long as he's in control.

Funny thing is, if jingles are so yesterday, then why do the satellite channels more and more people are turning to like Sirius 1 and the like have them? If its old, why use them on a new trend like satellite? Maybe someone has that answer for me.... lol

Sorry to interupt the jingle talk but apparently the station has added a new PD to replace Mcqueen so hopefully the numbers will come up.. reportedly name is "Trapper John" Morris from Memphis where he was a APD and MD of a Citadel station there.
