107.1 New Application --Parent Station KQJK

So......EMF owns the license and the parent station is owned by Clear Channel. And CC will purchase the license after the CP is issued?

I assume the master plan is for the translator to broadcast whatever is on KQJK's HD-2 channel, similar to KKCY's 95.5 translator on the Sutter Buttes? Thus, Clear Channel will effectively 'add' another FM (albeit only 250 watts). ?? ::)

That's most certainly what it looks like.

Exploiting a loop hole for translator apps to simulcast an HD-2. Interesting.

Interesting why they elected to relocate to the KQJK tower. Maybe since Clear Channel already leases space on it? Or maybe the neighborhood? With such limited signal, location is everything.

This translator would put at least 60 dBu, roughly, over Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Granite Bay, Citrus Heights, and Orangevale. Thats a population of around 400,000 in some of the more affluent areas.

Yes, its only 0.25kw, but it's worth something in that area.

Big D, agree 100%. While its nothing to write home about, that area has money to spend. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

What kind of damage will 92.1 do in that region? :)

I know HD station programming switches around but isn't jack's side Alternative or did that change....
I've always thought HD was novel toe in water that would go the way of the dodo by streaming stations.

Unsure of how a translator can run localized spots but could run nationals if fed by Iheart through HD.

Money 107.1?, smooth jazz(since ppm not as important), AAA(world class rock)??? Your thoughts to fit the area served?

CC needed to reach younger since blowing up My92.5 although they recently Tweaked V much younger.
Why hasn't there been a V becomes the Beat thread??? Nobody here listens to V?

I know this looks like it might be another station, but I am positive that it's a change of convenience it still will be
Air 1 after the move

It's possible, you may be onto something Bud.

That would mean KQJK's HD-2 will become Air1. If CC can make more money with their HD-2 that way, why not? That location would fill a hole for Air1 between KARA and KCAI.
