107.3 Rochester

Whatever happened to the modern rock station that was 95.1/95.5 then switched to the poor signal 107.3 and now is a mix. Why did the station flip? 94.1 the nerve is only so good for so long.

The nerve had it's best days in the mid 90s when it was owned by Great Lakes Broadcasting. It had a full staff of dj's - they were in the studio and picked up regular paychecks and all that neat stuff that nowadays seems so unbelievable. Then Clear Channel took them over and they mostly voicetracked and the ratings erosion began. Then they were switched to 107.3(the tower is nowadays in Bristol?). Whatever CC does with this weak signal, it will get next to nothing in ratings.

107.3 is an urban hybred this week. Sorta a 'movin" format with Whoopie Goldberg on in the morning. Still owned by Clear Channel :(

The Nerve was one of the most original and creative sounding modern rock stations in the country, if for no other reason than they didn't go with the flow and pay off Jacobs Media to call it The Edge. Another example of CCU and Gene Romano's inability to understand the Rochester market (and many others as well). Look at what a fine job they did with WVOR...not!
