107.3 WAAF back on Paxton?

I got 107.3 WAAf audible thursday night 10pm-midnight Down the I-91 corridor on my Way to the IBS convention in NYC. ( sorry WCCC Harder Faster on WAAF blows you guys away music-wise so I couldn't leave it on CCC like I usually do!) WAAF came in on most of my trip from about Putney VT all the way to the tunnel on the Wilbert Cross route 15 in New Haven Not bad... How long have they been back on Paxton or was it luck of the draw?

I think the conditions were very good that day and they got out good..

I think HARDER/FASTER is a little TOO HARD.... They lost it a few years ago and they are trying to make up for it with "Harder/faster"

They aint doing it in my opinion!

as much as I love CCC, nickelback and 3 doors down in the 11pm hour they could do Better Makes me wanna fall asleep on the road. Remember this is JMHO. I took the chance at listening to Hard music to keep me awake on AAF since I was getting it so I kept tuned in.

Now that they have 97.7-WKAF for in town Boston, I can not imagine why continue to run the impaired signal on 107.3. The new signal is vastly weaker not only to the west, but to the north shore of Boston, too.
The old Armstrong tower at the Paxton site was amazing....covering all of western Mass, most of Connecticut,
Rhode Island, much of New Hampshire, southern Maine, some of Vermont and even eastern New York State. A friend of mine used to get it like a local with a yagii FM antenna in Saratoga Springs...

Couldn't get AAF on the way back pretty much at all in most of CT :'( I must have gotten lucky and they were doing tower maintenance on thursday night or strong DX...

It looks like Entercom is up for contract renewal I don't know if its just PPM, Do you think that someone might be smart enough to get it full time back on Paxton

WAAF is a Massachusetts station. They don't care about whether or not you can get it in Connecticut. Even if you could get it in Connecticut they sure as heck won't try to sell ads in Connecticut. Get over it.

Who said anything about advertising? ::)

I wonder if a move back to their old site is complicated by WAAF's change of COL from Worcester to (WTF?) Westborough? It might be, if they claimed to provide "first service" to the Greater Westborough/Littleton/Carlyle/Old Forge area (moooo).

According to the FCC database, WAAF is still "licensed" on the Paxton TX; they are still technically operating a CP from the Westborough site.

97.7 does a good job covering the Eastern portion of the market. It will be interesting to see if they ever make a change.

Hope you all have been well.

The city of license for WAAF is Westborough. The table of allotments was changed. WAAF is operating under a condition known as "program test authority". From Paxton, WAAF does cover the city of license of Westborough as much as they do in Worcester. I believe the city of license change was to make the "main studio" comply with the rules, with the combination of the Stiles Hill signal and their main studio in the New Balance building, but don't exactly quote me on that one.
