107.3 WPUR CP

I see back since October 2007, 107.3 WPUR has been operating under a CP for a transmitter move.....It looks like their new home (looks like on a transmitter in Northfield) will have a non-directional signal compared to their current directional signal atop the Taj Mahal in AC.

WPUR has been essentially non-directional since 2004,
when WSNJ-FM was licensed as WRNB in Pennsauken.
We turned the former 1500 watt null into the ocean.
It was listed as directional on paper, but covered all
land areas with the full 25 KW equivalent 13.5 Kw.

We applied to move to Northfield on the 350 foot tower
in Birch Grove Park, but due to issues between the
owner of the tower, and the company operating it, we
were unable to get some ancient, unused microwave
antennas out of the way. We abandoned that project.

We moved from the Taj to the WFPG tower December 21st,
after building renovations and electrical/generator upgrades.

What you see on the FCC website is often weeks and months
behind. Keep in mind the issuance of a construction permit
gives you 36 months to get things done, it doesn't mean
it has happened.

Speaking of the FCC website being months behind, I've got a puzzling question. Maybe I'm just not all that aware of how things go over there, but I've often questioned their validity, timeliness or accuracies. Case in point, W264BT 100.7 is the translator for WDDM... It's been on the air and licensed on the air w/ the FCC since, what, last summer? However, WDDM (although on the air...) is still listed on the FCC's database as off the air.... How could a translator be on the air for a station that's off the air? Just a thought.... ???

I've been curious about where that information comes from. I know Radio Locator has a notation if the station is off the air, but where is that info on the FCC site?

Hi all, I.m sorry to go a little off topic here, But I picked up WPUR here in Connecticut last falls tropo conditions were good, I have to say when I was down in AC on a 2 week holiday last summer, I was tuned in to WPUR , then I got home here in Connecticut and later in a couple of months I was playing with my car radio dial check the DX conditions out, Then I heard WPUR's calls ring out or the speakers, I almost died.coming in loud and clear for weeks.
