Does anybody know the what is going on with the CP for 107.5? Seems like it is being held up for some reason.
The delay is that the proposal, according to the FAA, would interfere with FAA navigation equipment...namely an Instrument Landing System. They have amended their application to specify lower power in one transmission plane (FM has vertical and horizontal radiation planes) than the other and the FAA has agreed to this change ot eliminate any "potential" Interference.secondchoice said:Can't you get "extra" time from the FCC on a CP if the delay is "caused by events not under your control"?
I could see that...there is an approach to Hartsfield that roughly parallels I-85. You can see the planes stacked up on Friday evening, especially after dark.artsutton said:The delay is that the proposal, according to the FAA, would interfere with FAA navigation equipment...namely an Instrument Landing System. They are going on an existing tower, so no local zoning issues were involved.

There is a cell phone tower that is about 2-3x as tall as an average cell tower at the location they are considering (where the "Gwinnett Is Great" water tanks used to be). I suppose they will be using that.
Also Briscoe (LZU).secondchoice said:jabba17 said:I could see that...there is an approach to Hartsfield that roughly parallels I-85. If it is an FAA issue I can understand the problem. BTW do not forget that this site is not that far from PDK which can be very busy at times.
