107.5 in Charlotte airing nothing

On Saturday, I noticed that 107.5 W298CF (and 1310 WGSP) was broadcasting silence

102.3 WGSP-FM (which simulcasts with 107.5/1310) is still on the air.
 
If 102.3 and 107.5 both do the same thing, what is the point of 107.5?

Oh, wait, 102.3 used to be in Pageland so maybe there is a need.
 
102.3 is more towards Monroe, making it weaker in the Charlotte area, so the 107.5 simulcast was necessary.
