107.5 - WBYN

Ok, can someone listen in to 107.5, WBYN either during the morning or afternoon "drives" and tell me why the on-air mic sounds so crappy and over-modulated? Its as if the announcer is talking through a kazoo!!

I sent the station an e-mail about this a couple of weeks ago and got a response generally admitting the problem existed....but it is STILL going on!!!

Could it be a technical problem that the religious ownership has no interest in fixing due to cost? (Perhaps they are just holding the station while still trying to sell it? They certainly have not invested in air talent!) Or, can it possibly be a problem because I have listened in only from "fringe" areas near King of Prussia & in Chester County?

Best guess-----to quote Ron Popeil in those old infomercials......"Set it and forget it."

Probably not a whole lot of attention being paid to it by the owners in Lancaster.

I will say that the parent company in Lancaster (WDAC) is a top notch organization that is well maintained and state of the art. Since they are aware of the problem....they are probably working on it. They are probably fixing problems that Nassau left for them.

I agree with bossjock... I think WDAC provides behind-the-scenes support. On air, Greg Barton (WDAC news director) provides the NWS weather forecasts for WBYN each day.

As far as investing in air talent, the current on-air personnel were brought back from the old 107.5-Alive before it became Frank-FM. It was an OK move considering they were trying to get back in touch with their former listeners.
