107.7 The End

It's fallen all the way down to a 2.4 (21st in the market). Is Entercom still making money off of it due to it's heritage or are they trying to figure out a different direction for it?

KNDD is a station that tragically is living off it's past. Something alternative rock is NOT supposed to do And it's a shame. The station was once a leader. And there is so much exciting NEW music out there. Most of KNDD's playlist is over 20 years old - that's CLASSIC ROCK, not alternative.

I bet a revival of KRAB on 107.7 would get WAY better ratings than KNDD...

I've listened to it via Tune In and the playlist has gotten more boring every time I turn it on. A once leading alternative station now playing (mostly) what everyone else has already burned out (coughLInkinParkandColdplaycough) and tons of 90s grunge. How many times a day do people want to hear "Black Hole Sun" or "Man In A Box"? I'm not surprised they're losing the ratings game, as of lately, but I wonder how Entercom is making any money off of this.

Ah the old Norman B Daze, that station was dead on with the music and treat for the ears especially with the New Rock path they cut.

And yet this is the only music station my 17 year old listens to when he's not on ipod, his main source for tunes. Wonder if there's still opportunity for someone to do it right.

Pretty much the only station I listen to as well, and I'm 47. Grew up with 91X then KNDD. The new music is pleasing to me because it's very similar to the sound modern rock used to have in my opinion.

But I so agree they are playing way to much grunge and the same old tunes from the 90's over and over. If they are going to play nearly 40% gold, why not go all the way back and replace a couple 90's era songs with 80's each hour?

I've listened to 91X Tijuana a couple times during E-skip openings. It's so weird how they have commercials on the non-commercial part of the band!

I grew up listening to 89x (88.7) out of Detroit, well actually Windsor, but it certainly targets the D, and they run some 4-5 minutes of commercials on a good number of dayparts. If you stream it, they cover the commercials with music :)

That's because it's licensed to Tijuana Mexico. The area below 92 mhz is only non com in the U.S.

Yeah, even much closer to Seattle than Tijuana you have commercial stations operating on 88.5 (CIBH Parksville), 89.5 (CHWK Chilliwack), 89.7 (CJSU Duncan), 91.3 (CJZN Victoria), and 91.7 (CKAY Gibsons-Sechelt).

If KBCS wasn't blasting on 91.3, you'd hear CJZN (The Zone @ 91.3)....I'll admit, at first it took me a few double-takes at the digital readout to get used to the idea of commercials down that low on the FM dial. Just as long as it's either in Canada or Mexico. The NCE part of the FM dial should NEVER be sold out to corporate commercial broadcasters in the US.

I can get CJSU 89.7 in Coupeville, clearly, while KMWS dominates a few feet away. I've heard CJZN clear down to Marysville, but nowhere S of that.

It's amazing the amount ADD on these boards!! - stay on the original subject please. why does this get re-routed to some discussion of non comm's in Tijuana?? - the fall of The End was being discussed......carry on

I didn't realize they were slipping in the ratings. I've been listening to KNDD more in the last year than I have since the days of Norman B. My only go-to for music when I've had enough of Don-of-the-Ron-&-Don's blowhard blather. My feel was that they had been playing less of the old stuff and that there was more up-to-date really listenable modern rock being played. I will say, though, that I just can not get used to that "Red" in the morning. She's patently un-funny and really just annoying. She desperately needs a second person to play off of. But the music has been awesome!

There's not much about this lame station that bears discussion, apparently.

The End seems to be going through its ups and downs but at some point all stations go through it. They will never be the same as it was in the late 90's early 2000's but it shouldn't be either.
