107.9 in Shreveport

Anybody know anything about what is going on with the 107.9 frequency in Shreveport? I know they had to shut it down awhile back after interference with aircraft and they moved to 102.9. What is Cumulus going to do with 107.9??

Who knows, really. I guess they're still waiting for some guidance from the FCC. The Mix 102-9 promo van is still parked in the Louisiana Boardwalk parking garage, though...

I'm beginning to wonder, since it's been so long now, if Cumulus is going to do anything with 107.9. They're certainly not interested in moving KVMA from 102.9, since by now it's pretty well established and seems to be doing quite well. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that the more time that goes by, the more KVMA will grow and the less the audience will miss the Mix. To me it seems that finding an alternate frequency for Mix isn't the priority it was a few months ago. Unless they were to find someone who wanted to move 107.9 back to Arkansas, Cumulus may be stuck on this one, since going back to Magnolia wouldn't solve anything for them.

Cumulus is having to deal with the FCC on this issue and since they move extremley slow it is possible that is reason for the ongoing delays. I do agree that when the issue is solved that something new will appear on whatever frequency 107.9 ends up on. The current 102.9 format will stay.

You are right on the money, Magic will stay on 102.9. With the ratings success, & momentum they would be foolish to move it. You are also right on the FCC issue regarding the new frequency for Mix. It will be a new frequency, 107.9 is dead in the water. Bottom line is Cumulus has too much money locked in to this project just to let it go. Hopefully it will happen soon, KVKI SUCKS BAD!!!
