The KGSO simulcast (or at least a partial one) may make sense.
For those not familiar, KGSO-AM operates with a southwest directional pattern during the day, and with a mostly south signal night that has major signal issues in east Wichita and western Butler County, where a lot of the money demos live. (It also has virtually no coverage day or night north of Wichita, and problems in parts of Butler County during the day.) 107.9 can't city grade Wichita unless they can get another station to downgrade, and the owner of that station, even if they were willing to consider it, would likely make a demand that Larry Steckline will never accept.
Putting the 1410 programming on 107.9 would though give them a better signal presence in the aformentioned areas. Maybe not a city grade, but it would work.
