Drake-Chenault did own KXOA for a time. Backstory here:
And Lester Eugene Chenault owned KYNO in Fresno where Drake had his first real victory*, programming against an also well known programmer... Ron Jacobs at KMAK.

But consulting and syndication became the core of the Drake-Chenault operation, not ownership.

* Wikipedia claims that Drake had a huge success at 250 watt WAKE in Atlanta and then at KYA in San Francisco, which is a bit of an exaggeration. In the article, market leaders Quixie in Atlanta and KEWB Color Channel 91 are conveniently forgotten.

KEWW: KEWB Color Radio Channel 91, Oakland (1959-1966) | Bay Area Radio

Dr Don Rose, later on KFRC, was Drake's competitor at Quixie.

I’ll go out on a limb and suggest “Sunday I’m In Love” by the Cure for tomorrow, but it could be something Mother’s Day-related instead.
That should be "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure from 1992 - the album was "Wish".

Lots of Sunday songs to pick from, and "I'll Always Love My Mama" by The Intruders (1973) for Mother's Day, among others.
For giggles: "Mother" by Danzig, "Mother" by Pink Floyd and "Mother" by John Lennon.

Ack! Brain cramp. Of course you’re right about the Cure.

"Mother" by the Police if they really want to get obscure.

Not the same song on loop... an actual playlist?
1:15AM:
Intruders - I'll Always Love My Mama
Paul Simon - Mother and Child Reunion
Carrie Underwood - Mama's Song (that last segue was not smooth at all)

It’s a full hour on loop, not just the same song. Pretty good variety across genres. Didn’t hear Pink Floyd, but they played Ozzy’s “Mama I’m coming home.”

How is Thursday traditional for launching a new format or station?
First day of a rating period. Unless something’s changed, they start on a Thursday and end on a Wednesday.

You can launch any day, but by launching on the Thursday the rating month begins, at the end of month one, you know that all the data is attached to the new format, not the old one or the stunt.
