107.9 THE TRACK: CIRCLING THE DRAIN

Did you see the Nov-Dec-Jan trend? WNTR a half share behind the mighty WKLU.

Last time The Track slumped back in Fall 2007, Entercom gave away big cash to listeners to buy the next book. I don't think they have the funds to do that again this year. Tom Watson, the consultant who created The Track and became its first PD, is available again after being a Cumulus budget casualty out in California. He might be a better investment this time.

On further thought, maybe Tom BERG is making the difference!

i've listened to "The Track" and it sounds pretty good musically, the problem is, its a "MACHINE". computer generated back sells of music, where are the PEOPLE? a bad voice tracker would be better, and that isn't saying much. if they wanted a radio station to sound like an I-Pod they've done it, and the people have rejected it. i like the variety of music, but its missing something, that human thing.

I've been hearing current songs on the Track lately, e.g. "Gotta Be Somebody", "So What", etc. These songs do not have the voice stating the title and artist after the song. Is the Track becoming more Hot AC or just trying to freshen up their sound?

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Their moniker is "We Play Everything" after all.
Don't get me wrong, I love the track's music (I know most people on this board don't), but that auto generated voice after each song gets annoying. And i'm not that big of a fan of the airstaff they have there. The only jocks I like now are Willie B and JC. I kind of stopped listening after they ditched Ann and Tom. I do love me some Saturday Night Live with JC though! :D
