Uhh - is WTPI now 'Jack Lite'? 'Jack-o-Lantern'?

They fired jocks for this?

Pretty much the same type of music, with the following changes:

1. No more currents
2. At least one (2) "disco" songs per set
3. At least two (2) 60's songs per set
4. The balance is a mix of 70's, 80's, 90's.

In fact, of the last 30 cuts (excuse me, "tracks")....

5 (17%) were from the 60's (Motown, Beach Boys, CCR, Monkees, etc.)
10 (33%) were from the 70's, 1/2 of those being disco, the rest "Classic Rock"
10 (33%) were from the 80's, mostly AC
5 (17%) were from the 90's (Backstreet Boys, Cher, Mariah Carey)

If you go to http://stonegage.yes.com - and select both Indianapolis and WTPI, you can view the past 24 hours of playlists.

The shift in music mix seemed to take place right at 9 AM this morning, unless they are dayparting for the "at work" crowd.

Sure do miss the jocks though, especially Steve Cooper, Jerry Curtis and Mike O'Brien!

Well - I don't know but - they say they are playing 18 in a row...I have been listening all morning - I haven't heard 18 in a row yet - I think that kind of is bad programming don't you think?

Say what you do - do what you say...

Hmmm....

No offense to anyone but this station blows! Talk about a drop in ratings, I guess they are trying to copy B-105 (70-80's music) no surprise there instead of trying something new a different Entercom just put a new coat of paint on an old car. While at the same time fired the reason why the station was better than most.

How long till ZPL axes everyone and goes DJ free? Great way to cut costs on a station that is currently dismal in ratings.

Blah blah blah..."we've researched what people in Indy want to listen to and here it is"....Sounds a lot like WENS did back in the "we let out music do the talking" days. I like the majority of the music they're playing, but it's nothing more than an oldies station for the 30 and up crowd with extra Shania Twain thrown in for good measure.

I don't think the music selection is too bad -- but the liners are too long and too repetitive. "This is one-oh-seven-nine the track. The most music in the morning. And 18 tracks back to back all day at work". At least 10 sec. And it was more or less the same words in both liners I caught while I was listening.

The third one was just "One oh seven point nine the track". Which is nice.

I don't like jockless radio, but whatever floats Entercom's boat.
