1070 WFLI Chattanooga Goes Dark

The "Mid-South Most Powerful Gospel Station@ signed off last night. I drove through Chattanooga during the day, and could get WFNI in Indy to S Pittsburg TN, then WFLI took over.

Back as DXing kids, a few of us near JFK Airport in Queens NYC heard WFLI a few times during their power change.
WFLI was a form of Top 40/R&B at the time, iIrc.

I don't remember the wording of that announcement -- which they indeed broadcast -- but perhaps fanciful recall had them saying that 'At this time, WFLI from Lookout Mountain Tennessee switches from ten thousand watts to one .....'

Silence.

A great big tip of the earphones to WFLI. Thank you for the memories!
