1077 The Eagle WSFR

There is supposed to be some sort of announcement this afternoon... in fact it was rumored to be around 4:10 (not sure where that info came from but somebody mentioned that on his page), but it hasn't happened yet. But they did play Sister Christian at 4:10... so my gut instinct says they're up to something.

Edit: It seems they've "made an offer for him to stay." He's going to "think about it."

According to 1077, the official announcement will be made tomorrow (could they be any less publicity stunt-ish?)... I'm interested in seeing what, if anything, happens tomorrow.

It amazes me that WHAS 11 is still treating this as if it is some real news story and covering it like a real news story, like he was really fired and that he is now returning. Do they really not see that it was just a publicity stunt?

I still wonder if anything will change on Tuesday. If they did this publicity stunt just for Night Ranger, then I think they went way overboard. To be honest, they could change their brand, call themselves classic rock... it doesn't matter, the personalities and playlist would still be exactly the same. No matter what, though, they aren't classic hits. Just turn on WAKY and listen to what they're playing and what WSFR isn't playing. How many Ambrosia, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, or Roxette songs has anybody ever heard on "The Eagle"?

YES YES!!!! That is exactly what surprises me the most about his entire thing. I rarely listen to 107.7, and I found out about this "suspension" when WDRB reported it on their newscast. I guess in terms of publicity stunts, this couldn't have gone any better for the Eagle. Carter Mann has to feel pretty good about himself thinking that he is irreplaceable, since so many people came to his defense.

Unless I missed something, it seems as if nothing happened at WSFR today except Carter Mann returning... along with him making Jordan Forst a punching bag while he was in the studio, telling him that he was no longer his boss and now his producer and demanding Jordan give him some hat.

I've got to say, this seems to have been a pretty pointless publicity stunt... if you're going to do a publicity stunt, at least put something worth attention at the end.

Turned out to be much a do about nothing, a real waste of time.
I was surprised the only format change was 1570/1600 to Spanish, but we all knew that was coming. Still nothing new on 100.5 either, could something else be happening that we don't know about on another frequency?
