1090AM on the air with Religion?

Maybe they could at least run a 24/7 FM translator from that, if they can find a frequency.

Even if there were somehow still an available frequency (there is not), an AM station can't just apply for a new translator. There were a series of FCC filing windows, the last of which closed in 2018. Once they closed, the only way for an AM station to get a translator is to buy an existing one, if one is available. That's a very expensive proposition in Boston.

I believe Radio One had a translator for WILD but sold it to Greater/Beasley..the 106.1 FM translator that now simulcasts Bloomberg at 1330. So WILD had a chance, and cashed in
by selling it off.
The translator sale was in 2016.By July of
2017, 1330 and 106.1 began "Bloomberg 106.1"

RadioInsight Nov of 2016:
"The timing will also allow Beasley to complete construction of 106.1 W291CZ Boston as it completes its move from 94.1 Utica NY. The new 99w/244m signal will operate from the John Hancock tower in downtown Boston."

How's this for FM translator coverage?
