10's EARTHWATCH gets 'worst vote'

In a story Saturday, in the Entertainment Section of the Philadelphia Inquirer--can't remember the name of the man--but a survey was done for accuracy of TV weathercasts in this market. The higher the numbers, the worse you did.
Channel 10's EARTHWATCH got the highest for innaccuracy. PVI, CBS3 and the author, who also forecasts, fell in behind with FOX29's BIG PICTURE WEATHER's Rob Guarino getting #1 with only 7 points. The survey resulted in FOX being the 'best' in "when a storm would hit", the "intensity" as well as "number of snow inches".

Next check accuracy of the traffic reports

The Inquirer should do the same thing on the traffic reports (both TV and radio), especially 6ABC after they dropped "gold standard" Shadow Traffic and replaced veteran reporter John Valiero with some pretty boy college kid.

The weather is about the accuracy of the predictions. But some of these traffic reports miss what's happening right now.

Nobody quite says it like you when it comes to that relentless traffic drumbeat, MerriamWebster...except perhaps when mwebster, bierkenstock and several "others" say virtually the same exact thing. Ohhh, wait. I get it now.

Checking the accuracy of traffic reports

More unsupported allegations from one who may be a master practitioner. The last time this tried, one of the moderators replied as follows:

There appears to be a question as to whether valkyrie has himself violated that rule, so consider the source of the accusations.

I have taken my own advice. Thanks to Replay A/V, which now allows recording of multiple audio streams, I have recorded one week's worth of morning and afternoon drive-time traffic reports from the three traffic providers. I am doing a content analysis of the material and I will post the results when they are complete. We will then see how they compare - head to head.

In the meantime, a major factor contributing to inaccurate traffic reports is when a traffic announcer spends his time posting on online radio boards during the height of the morning drive rush hour (not time mention checking job postings).

Oh, boo hoo!

That traffic announcer is probably well-employed and well-paid...and, you are probably neither. Sounds like a large case of sour grapes from here.
