11/1... things to do today

Turn clocks back one hour

check smoke detectors, replace batteries

Take WODS 103.3 off any radio preset for the next 2 effn months.
When is WROR going to follow suit?

Are they kidding us? Do we really need 2 months of "holiday" music?

I wonder if they are kicking Barry Scott to the curb again this year?

Maybe I'm a Scrooge and don't get the attraction of it. I know the book used to show huge ratings increases for stations that changed formats for the Holidays, but it will be interesting to see with the PPM up and running in this market now if the numbers are as good as they were using paper diaries.

Your thoughts?

Things for me to do:

Enthusiastically search the dial for Christmas Music

They kick Barry to the curb every year for 5 or 6 weeks or so. Last year, he had been promoting that Mike Love/Beach Boys interview for about a month and a half which was going to air in early to mid November and WODS went all Christmas in early November. He should have known better.

Within a couple of weeks, all regular shows will disappear for 2 months including Lost 45s, Wolfman, AT40, the Sunday morning stuff.

It's possible that, much like last year, they will even dump Tom Kent unless Tom has 24/7 Christmas programmning. Doubtful he does. But that's ok because that means that, much like last year, Patrick Callahan and others will probably reappear on a regular basis for weeknights. Good for them because they get to work. But it's 2 months of Christmas music so I still won't be listening.

Things for me to do:

1) Add WODS 103.3 to my #1 preset.

2) Add WROR 105.7 to my #2 preset.

3) Find other christmas music stations stations and add them to my presets!

One more thing:

4) Get a lobotomy (if you haven't done so already).
