Long time Atlanta TV and radio market vet Jeff Hullinger has been officially named as Brenda Wood's 5,6 &11pm co-anchor after about 7 years at the station. I grew up during the 80s and he was the main sports guy at TV5 and stayed there until 2002. This was around the time tv stations stopped spending real money on sports anchors and reduced their role in the news programs. While at 5 it was CBS and into its beginnings with Fox Jeff was the main sports anchor but during the Olympics he also worked at the anchor desk with Brenda and others. He also spent time as morning host at WGST when they mattered and did Falcons play by play. Sometimes he would fill in at CNN during Talk back Live. Plus he was part of the Rude Awakening with Chris Rude on 96 Rock. The man was everwhere and the career slowed off and soon he lost his main job. I kind of wonder if all this fame got to his head causing him to crash. He spend a couple of years at WSB radio doing news until they let him go. After Rodney Ho did an article in 2010 about Hullinger being missing from TV, channel 11 gave him a chance. Now doing fill in work, handling some sports and reestablishing himself he got the job as Brenda's co-anchor officially on the 3rd ranked station in market 9. Now 11alive has the most experienced Atlanta news team since Jeff & Brenda have been on Atlanta tv since the 80s.
